ICYMI: Senator Rob Portman Campaigns with Jane Timken Across Ohio

March 7, 2022

On Friday, U.S. Senate candidate Jane Timken campaigned in Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus with Senator Rob Portman who has endorsed Timken as his successor. See below for some of the highlights:
Dayton Daily News

“She’d be a terrific U.S. senator. We have a 50-50 senate right now. I think its important that we send a Republican to the Senate because a Republican majority is really important to the future of Ohio and the country,” Portman said during a campaign appearance with Timken on Friday at the Montgomery County Republican Party office in Riverside.

“There are many choices, and a lot of them are my friends. But I’ve known Jane for a long time and I’ve watched her in action,” during her tenure as chair of the state GOP, he said. “It’s also great for us to have a strong Republican woman running. We need more women in the senate on both sides of the aisle.”

Spectrum News

“Portman says he believes Timken is the right person for the job because she has a proven record of getting things done. ‘I Think she is the best person to win the primary election and the general election…What is going on with inflation, our energy policy in this country, we see what is going on overseas. We need to restore the strength of our military. We need to make sure our parents have control over their kids’ lives and get back to school. Jane is strong on all of these issues. It’s really important we have Jane there.’”

“We want our children to have the best education and the best opportunity because it’s about the American Dream,” said Timken. “It’s time to put parents first. It’s time to put kids first. They’ve poked the mama and papa bears and the mamas and the papas are fighting back. I’m a mom on a mission to fight for this country!”
ABC 22 Dayton

“Senator Portman recently endorsed Timken to be his successor in the Ohio Senate Primary. He says she is the ‘best candidate to advance conservative Republican policies to help Ohio workers and families.’ ‘Jane is not running as a woman, she is running as a conservative who wants to help Ohio, for the future of our kids and our grandkids.'”

NBC 2 Dayton

“While in the Miami Valley, Timken was asked about the Russian invasion in the Ukraine. ‘We need full court press sanctions. I’m going to Washington, D.C. to fight for peace through strength, to make sure our military has the resources it needs, and to make sure our veterans are taken care of. Right now, national security means we need full court press on Vladimir Putin.'”

“Just wrapped up a visit with some @JaneTimkenOH supporters in Dayton, where we talked about Ukraine, energy policy, inflation, & the need to secure our southern border. On issue after issue, Jane Timken is the best candidate to represent Ohio in the US Senate!”
Cleveland.com Capitol Letter

“In Columbus at the Timken campaign headquarters, Portman touted Timken as an intelligent conservative well-positioned to win the general election in November…’She’s got her own opinions, she’s got real conservative values, but she knows how to bring people together and actually achieve results, which I think as a U.S. Senator, you need to not just throw out red meat, but actually get something done.’”

Columbus Dispatch

“They hit the highlights: immigration, inflation, parents’ choice in education…”

Senator Rob Portman Campaigns with Jane Timken as “The Right Person at the Right Time”

March 4, 2022

COLUMBUS, OH – Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman joined Jane Timken on the campaign trail in Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus to tout why he thinks she is the best candidate in the race.

“I think Jane Timken is the right person at the right time. I think she is the best person to win the primary and the general election,” said Senator Portman in Columbus. “We have to ensure we are sending thoughtful, smart conservatives to Washington, D.C. to be able to change the current policies of the Biden administration desperately, but also people who can figure out how to bring people together and get things done. It’s easy to throw out red meat – it’s another to actually get something done.”

“Jane brought everyone together…to put policy in place that helps Ohioans and helps the American people,” said Senator Portman in Cincinnati. “That is her only agenda. There is no ego. It’s about helping to find strength through unity. I think that is what we need right now in this country. I think Jane will be a great advocate for that. I think she is the person we have to send to the United States Senate.”

“I am so thrilled to have Senator Portman’s endorsement,” said Timken in Dayton. “His work on President Trump’s Tax Cuts, his support of strong, pro-Life Supreme Court Justices, his unmatched record of tackling Ohio’s opioid epidemic – these are all things that I want to continue in the United States Senate.”

Senator Portman recently endorsed Timken in what was the largest shift in the primary so far.

ICYMI: Akron Beacon Journal: Senate candidate Jane Timken nods to moms who have ‘had enough’ of Democrats’ policies

March 3, 2022

Akron Beacon Journal
Op-ed by Jane Timken, candidate for U.S. Senate

“March commemorates Women’s History Month where we celebrate the contributions of women. Throughout history, women have been trailblazers in voting rights, civil rights, and political rights — often ushering in large scale movements that have impacted our communities in incredible ways.

We are on the precipice of yet another movement. This Women’s History Month, we celebrate women, specifically the mama bears, who are leading a political awakening in this country. While we see and honor all those papa bears too, this year is the year of the mom.

The mom fighting back against her children’s lost education when schools were shut down and held hostage by teachers unions. The mom standing up for personal medical freedom and the right to determine her family’s healthcare decisions. The mom outraged with Democrat politicians who want to mask her 2-year-old, but won’t hold illegal immigrants at the southern border to the same standard. The mom who has had to leave the workforce because of asinine COVID policies forcing disruptive school and daycare schedules. The mom who has just had enough.

Count me in as one of those angry mama bears.

More often than not, women don’t sit on the sidelines when there is a problem. Instead, we fix it. That is how I got my start in politics, too.

When Democrats passed Obamacare, I saw that as the first step of government overreach in our lives, so I got involved at a local level to do something about it. Then in 2016, when the Kasich-controlled machine at the Ohio Republican Party turned its back on President Donald Trump, I stepped up to run as chair and proudly became the first female chairman of any major political party in Ohio. Today, I’m running for U.S. Senate because I can’t sit back and watch Democrats reverse the incredible progress we made under Trump’s America First agenda and steer this country into a ditch, void of opportunity for our children.

Mothers, myself included, are laser-focused on the issues that matter to American families because we are often on the front lines of these issues at home and at work. We see the cost of rising inflation when we go to the grocery store or the gas pump. We know what it takes to live within our family’s budget, and don’t want our kids and grandkids footing the bill for Washington’s reckless spending. We passionately believe that when it comes to education and healthcare decisions, our kids belong to us — the parents — and not the government. We are fed up with “defund the police” nonsense and want to live in communities that are safe.

I am in the fight to be Ohio’s next senator because I truly believe the Republican Party is the Grand Opportunity Party that can lift our state and our country to new heights and leave a better tomorrow for our children.

While my election would make me Ohio’s first female Senator, my gender is not what qualifies me for office. My fighter-spirit and record of getting things done is.

I’m a mom-on-a-mission ready to fight for our state, and I’m incredibly excited to have such a strong slate of conservative moms supporting me. House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik was the youngest woman ever elected to Congress and now serves in House Leadership. South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem is leading the country on legislation combating critical race theory and protecting fairness in girls’ sports. Sens. Joni Ernst, Shelley Moore Capito and Deb Fischer are all the first women elected to the Senate in their states and have delivered forward-thinking results.  And Kellyanne Conway was the first female to ever lead a successful presidential campaign —though the media won’t give her credit for it.

This month, I celebrate all the mothers protecting their kids. With me as Ohio’s next senator, Ohio families will have one more mama bear fighting for them in Washington.”

U.S. Senate Candidate Jane Timken’s Statement on the State of the Union

March 1, 2022

CANTON, OH – U.S. Senate candidate Jane Timken released the following statement on the State of the Union:

“There is no doubt that the State of the Union is weak after one year of Joe Biden and Democrats’ rule. Inflation is costing the average American family more and weakening the value of a dollar. Gas prices soar as Biden bows to the altar of climate change and refuses to produce American energy. The Southern Border remains dire as illegal immigrants and drugs pour into the country unchecked. Americans’ personal liberties continue to be violated in the name of ‘COVID.’ Violent crime has risen in American communities while violence in Afghanistan and war in Ukraine destabilize the global stage. Undeniably, America and the world are less safe because of Biden’s weakness.

Thankfully, there is hope and help on the horizon when strong, America First fighters like me go to Washington to stop Democrats’ socialist slide and put Ohio interests first again. My priorities in Washington will be to fight for American jobs, stronger borders and parents’ rights, and correct this year of compounded crises. The State of the Union under Joe Biden is America LAST, but as Ohio’s next Senator, I’ll fight for it to be America FIRST once again.”

Former Trump Campaign Team Corey R. Lewandowski, David N. Bossie Join Timken Campaign

March 1, 2022

CANTON, OH – U.S. Senate candidate Jane Timken announced today that Former 2016 Campaign Manager and Senior Advisor to President Trump Corey Lewandowski and 2016 Deputy Campaign Manager David Bossie have joined the Timken campaign as Senior Strategists.

“In a field of candidates all vying for MAGA support, Jane Timken stands out as the real deal,” said Lewandowski and Bossie in a joint statement. “While other candidates in this race are clamoring to boost their Trump credentials, there is only one candidate who has proven her America First bona fides time and again, and that’s Jane. Jane was there for President Trump before any of these other guys and continues to be a leader for his America First Agenda.”

“I have worked with both Corey and David over the years as we fought to deliver Ohio for President Trump twice,” said Timken. “They know what it’s like to be in the throes of a campaign, and I am grateful to have their support in the home stretch.”

Today’s endorsement adds to the growing enthusiasm behind Timken’s America First candidacy. Retiring Senator Rob Portman has endorsed Timken to fill his seat, joining over 180 Ohio elected officials, Senators Joni Ernst, Shelley Moore Capito and Deb Fischer, House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Former Trump Campaign Manager Kellyanne Conway, and conservative women’s groups VIEWPAC, Maggie’s List, and Winning for Women. Learn more about Jane Timken and her campaign for U.S. Senate HERE.

U.S. Senate Candidate Jane Timken’s Statement on Senate Vote to Federalize Abortion On Demand

February 28, 2022

CANTON, OH – U.S. Senate candidate Jane Timken released the following statement ahead of the vote on Senate Bill 1975:

“Today, Senate Democrats will shamefully vote for legislation that allows for abortion on demand, for any reason, up until the moment of birth. While dressed up under the guise of ‘women’s health,’ this bill does nothing but give the abortion regime unconditional power with no regard to the lives of innocent, unborn babies, or the life, safety and mental health of the mother.

Votes like today demonstrate the critical importance of electing strong, pro-Life candidates that will be a voice of fortitude against Democrats’ pro-murder, anti-science culture of abortion. I passionately believe that every Life has worth, value and dignity, and in the U.S. Senate, I will be a powerful ally for the pro-Life movement to protect the sanctity of Life.

While defeat of this bill is an important step, the fight for Life is only just beginning. I continue to pray for the wisdom of our Supreme Court Justices to make the right decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and return power back to the states where it belongs – and where it will be greeted by a fierce pro-Life state in Ohio.”
