U.S. Senate Candidate Jane Timken Launches “Parents for Jane” Coalition

December 15, 2021

CANTON, OH – U.S. Senate candidate Jane Timken announced the launch today of “Parents for Jane,” a statewide grassroots coalition dedicated to highlighting Jane’s staunch support of Ohio parents, Ohio children and Ohio families.

“Parents are on the front lines of Joe Biden and the Democrats’ disastrous agenda,” said Timken. “Parents see the rampant inflation at the grocery story, they feel the higher gas prices as they drive to work, they’re upset that their children’s schools prioritize indoctrination over education, and they are concerned about the future of our country for their kids. As Ohio’s next United States Senator, I will put parents and families at the forefront of my decisions, not special interests, politicians, or corporations.”

Founding members of the “Parents for Jane” coalition include grassroots leaders from various regions in Ohio who are at the tip of the spear on education and family issues:

Chair:
Representative Marilyn John, sponsor of the Backpack Bill which will extend school choice to all families in Ohio.
“Jane Timken is a strong, consistent conservative who follows through on her promises,” said John. “I know that when we send Jane Timken to Washington, D.C., she will follow through on her fiscal conservative values and promote families.”

Co-Chairs:
Cathy Pultz, mom, activist, and former teacher.

“I’m honored to be a Co-Chair for the Parents for Jane coalition,” said Pultz. “As a mom and a former teacher, I am really passionate about education. I have watched schools move from teaching academics to teaching agendas over the past few years. Jane Timken is committed to putting parents first and believes parents should be in charge of their children’s education.”

Representative Bob Young, co-sponsor of HB 327 which prohibits any schools from teaching, advocating for, or promoting divisive concepts.

Senator Michael Rulli, former Leetonia School Board member and sponsor of SB 4 which provided $300 million in funding for the renovation and construction of safe school buildings across Ohio.

“Parents for Jane” members will act as grassroots leaders for the campaign in all 88 Ohio counties, organizing events and utilizing traditional in-person campaigning as well as digital mediums to share Jane’s message on putting parents back at the center of their children’s health, education, and well-being.

This coalition launch, the second of the cycle behind “Women for Jane,” comes on the heels of Jane’s release of her “Parents First” curriculum and her “Parents First” listening tour. The campaign has already held dozens of “Women for Jane” and “Parents First” events as Jane continues to grow her network of support as the grassroots, consensus candidate that can unify the Party and win.

Recent polling data shows that Jane, as a first-time candidate, is surging on the ballot and well within striking distance of the lead.
