ICYMI: Let’s Stand Up for Our Kids Against Leftist Overreach, Indoctrination

Townhall.com

By Jane Timken

“As parents gear up for a new school year, there is more on their minds than just checking off their back-to-school shopping list – which will cost more this year, by the way, thanks to Joe Biden’s reckless tax and spend policies that have caused record inflation.

Instead, moms and dads across Ohio and this country are facing much more serious questions about their children’s well-being and education – questions that the big hand of government is attempting to dictate and control.

Will school be fully in person after a disastrous year of online learning?

Will masks be mandated for children?

Will vaccines be required in order to return to school?

Will Critical Race Theory be taught in a school’s curriculum?

As I travel Ohio, these are issues of top concern to parents as they have witnessed the iron grip of government continue to reach for our children, often using COVID as an excuse to seize more control and power.

But enough is enough.  These are our kids and this is their future.  We have to stand up and fight back against the left’s continued power grabs that place teachers unions and leftist ideology first, and students last.

That means full in person learning, no new mask mandates, no mandated vaccines, and no Critical Race Theory.

…

Democrats are interjecting big government where the family should be – and as a mom and a U.S. Senate candidate, I find that dead wrong.

The recent recommendation by the American Academy of Pediatrics that children over the age of 2 should be wearing a mask to return to school, regardless of vaccination status, is insane. Joe Biden also ridiculously echoed this in a recent town hall in Ohio saying that all children under 12 should mask up.

We know that the risk of mental health issues and developmental setbacks are much worse for children if they are in remote settings or not able to interact with their peers. We know that children can better connect when they see smiles from their teachers and their friends. And we know that learning is better when children can effectively communicate and be immersed in their education.

The lost learning, lost socialization, and lost productivity of last year cannot be understated and must not be repeated. Its long-lasting impacts have only just started to come to light.

That is why you are seeing parents all across the country – Republican, Democrat, politically active or not – standing up and fighting back at their local school boards.

The restrictive COVID guidelines were often just the first spur, with Critical Race Theory and new government mandates being the last straw. As I like to say, they’ve poked the mama and papa bears, and we are going to protect our children at all costs.

In the U.S. Senate, I will use my voice as a mom to always advocate for what is best for our children. I will be a fierce proponent of school choice and homeschooling options. No child should be confined to a school that is failing them or teaching anti-American values based solely on their zip code. I will fight to defund Critical Race Theory and stand up against leftist government overreach.

It’s time we get our children’s education back on track.”

She knows that Ohioans identify with Republican values and she is going to take those values to the United States Senate. We are fortunate that she is campaigning to represent Ohio in the U.S. Senate, and she has my full endorsement.” – Jim Thomas, Jackson Township Trustee, Stark County

“Northeast Ohio is a very special place and deserves to be represented properly in the United States Senate. That is why I’m supporting Jane Timken. “Ohio grassroots leaders know me as a fighter and they trust my leadership,” said Timken. “I am honored that Ohio’s conservative champions continue to put their faith in me to fight for the America First agenda in the U.S. Senate. I won’t let them down.” Full list of today’s endorsements:

Jane Timken Releases Statement Ahead of Joe Biden’s Staged PR Stunt in Cincinnati

July 21, 2021

CANTON, OH – Jane Timken, candidate for U.S. Senate, released the following statement ahead of Joe Biden’s staged CNN town hall in Cincinnati:

“Joe Biden is coming to Ohio to sell his left-wing, socialist agenda, but Ohioans aren’t interested in buying. Today, Biden will talk about the economy, an economic recovery he’s squandered with trillions of dollars in spending, new taxes, high inflation and record gas prices. Biden will talk about COVID and vaccine progress, despite sowing doubt on the historic vaccine President Trump and Operation Warp Speed made possible. Biden will talk about infrastructure, a deal he has continuously mishandled, moved the goalposts, and acted in bad faith by prioritizing socialist agenda items over the needs of communities. And highlighting the true depth of his hypocrisy, Biden’s PR stunt will take place in a Catholic venue, despite being the most pro-abortion and anti-life President in history.”

“CNN and the invite-only crowd may buy Joe Biden the snake oil salesman, but Ohioans know the real truth: Biden and Democrat policies are a disaster for this country. In the U.S. Senate, I’ll stand up and fight for what Ohioans actually want – targeted infrastructure, a strong economy, and a voice for the Ohio families being left behind by disastrous Democrat policies.”

Touting Ground Game Muscle, Jane Timken Surpasses 300,000 Voter Contacts Cycle To Date, Including 100,000 Door-Knocks

July 21, 2021

Only Candidate in Senate Field with Robust Ground Effort Statewide
CANTON, OH – Jane Timken, candidate for U.S. Senate, announced Wednesday that her campaign surpassed 300,000 voter contacts cycle to date, including 100,000 door-knocks. This milestone contributes to Timken’s robust statewide coalition as the only U.S. Senate candidate in the race with a substantial ground game. Timken is also the only campaign with boots on the ground in all 88 Ohio Counties with announced “Timken County Chairs” statewide, highlighting her grassroots muscle.

“I know how to win Ohio elections because I’ve done it before to help lead President Trump to a commanding victory in 2020,” said Timken. “It takes grit, hard work, and a good pair of door-knocking shoes. In all four corners of Ohio, voters are responding positively to my America First message and our grassroots movement continues to grow.”

In 2020, under Timken’s leadership, Ohio executed the largest grassroots effort in state history to re-elect President Trump and Republicans across the ballot with over 13 million voter contacts. Timken is focusing on that same grassroots, ground game investment in her race for U.S. Senate and has already racked up over 140 endorsements from conservative leaders across Ohio. In addition, Timken has individual donors from all 88 Ohio counties and 84% of the total dollars raised for her campaign have come from within the state.

Jane Timken Touts Grassroots, In-State Fundraising Strength with Donors in All 88 Ohio Counties

July 19, 2021

Only Candidate in Field with Statewide Donor Base as Grassroots Fundraising Soars
CANTON, OH – U.S. Senate candidate Jane Timken announced on Monday that her campaign has received donations from all 88 Ohio counties, highlighting the strong statewide enthusiasm for her candidacy. Since the launch of her campaign, 84% of the money raised for Timken came from within Ohio. This is in stark contrast to other candidates in the race who are raising a majority of their money from out of state donors. Importantly, Timken is earning the support of those that actually can vote in Ohio’s primary election.

“I am proud to be leading the field when it comes to Ohio’s grassroots support,” said Timken. “Momentum is on our side as Ohio voters coalesce around my candidacy because they know me, trust my leadership, and are ready to send a conservative disrupter to the U.S. Senate to fight for the America First agenda.”

Timken’s in-state grassroots fundraising has taken off, unlike the other candidates in the field. Analysis of the fundraising reports cycle to date prove that Timken is the clear favorite of the Ohio grassroots.

Jane Timken:

  • Jane Timken has raised money in every Ohio county, and 84% of her total money raised has come from within the state.
    • 76% of individual donors coming from in Ohio
  • This highlights Timken’s robust statewide support and viability as the grassroots’ choice for Ohio.

Josh Mandel:

  • Mandel’s report shows Ohio donors are not coalescing around his candidacy as 59% of the total money raised came from out of state.
    • Collectively, 64% of his individual donors are from out of state
  • Despite multiple previous bids for office, Ohio donors are choosing not to support Mandel’s candidacy.

Bernie Moreno:

  • There were only 41 people from outside the Cleveland area who supported Moreno, showing a clear absence of statewide support and viability.
  • 54% of Moreno’s total money raised came from out of state, and in Ohio, an overwhelming majority are from the greater Cleveland area.
    • Over half of his individual donors came from out of state

Mike Gibbons:

  • Gibbons’ report shows a clear lack of interest in garnering donor support across Ohio as he is self-funding.
  • Gibbons reported only 94 Ohio donors, with only eight donors coming from outside the greater Cleveland area.

These numbers reflect Timken’s status as the clear grassroots choice for the U.S. Senate. Timken has earned endorsements from over 140 conservative leaders and activists across the state and is the only campaign with boots on the ground in all 88 counties with announced Timken County Chairs statewide.

Timken is also the only candidate doing significant direct voter contact and has already surpassed 200,000 voter contacts cycle to date this early in the campaign.

ICYMI: War Room Pandemic: Americans support election audits. Why are Democrats smothering them?

War Room Pandemic

July 15, 2021
By Jane Timken

“Transparency. Accountability. Integrity.

These are words the Democrat Party loves to throw around to fluff their own ego while attacking Republicans.

But now, these are words the Democrat Party is terrified of as they seek to smother any talk of the 2020 election. Instead, they’re blocking and obstructing 2020 election audits, gaslighting on election integrity efforts, and using their allies in the mainstream media to cover their tracks.

On Tuesday, Joe Biden gave a “major” speech billed as a “voting rights” address in Philadelphia.

Setting aside Biden’s racial fear-mongering on GOP voting bills that actually increase access to voting, Biden’s real reason for being in Philadelphia was no secret – to attack and discredit the pending forensic investigation of the 2020 election in Pennsylvania.

We’ve already seen very significant irregularities and fraud unearthed in Arizona and Georgia’s election audits.

The White House’s response? Dispatch Biden to attack the majority of Americans across this country who are concerned with election integrity and are in favor of the audits.

According to Rasmussen, 55 percent of voters support election audits. Yet Biden – the same Joe Biden who campaigned on unity – called those concerned with election integrity to be “bullies and merchants of fear, peddlers of lies” and said they were “threatening the very foundation of our country.”

If Joe Biden and Democrats have nothing to hide, why would they oppose the audits? Wouldn’t they want to prove that the 2020 election went off without a hitch, as they claim?

When tens of millions of Americans have questions as to the legitimacy of our elections, it is imperative that we get to the bottom of it. Dismissing these claims as “the Big Lie” and scorning anyone who dare question the narrative does great harm to our democratic system and subsequent elections.

Moreover, it highlights Biden’s weakness in showing that he doesn’t want to defend his own legitimacy as Commander in Chief.

The reality is, Democrats changed the rules in 2020 and now want to rig every election going forward to make it nearly impossible for conservatives to win again. They said this silent part out loud in their desperate attempts to pass H.R. 1/S.1.

Democrats should want American voters to have confidence in the elections process just as much as Republicans do. Free and fair elections should not be a partisan issue.

As Ohio GOP Chair, election integrity was a top priority of mine. I worked hand in hand with President Trump’s campaign to ensure Ohio’s 2020 election was done right. Months before the election, I helped recruit over 300 attorneys and poll observers to be on the ground, monitoring our election, troubleshooting any issues, and making sure there were no bad actors.

Democrats have launched investigations into everything over the last four years. During President Trump’s tenure, they wasted millions of taxpayer dollars and government resources on the Mueller Report, TWO impeachment shams, and countless other witch-hunts. President Trump could so much as sneeze and Pelosi and her cronies would demand an investigation.

Yet when a majority of Americans support independent audits into the 2020 election and irregularities continue to be found, Democrats want to turn around and instead cry wolf about Republican voter integrity efforts?

Our elected leaders have an obligation to the voters of this country to ensure that our elections were done right and that Americans believe in our democratic process moving forward. Audits are a major part of ensuring that integrity.

As Ohio’s next U.S. Senator, I will do everything in my power to protect the integrity of the vote and the integrity of America’s ballot box.”

Jane Timken Joins Coalition, Signs Pledge to Combat Critical Race Theory in Ohio

July 12, 2021

CANTON, OH – Jane Timken, candidate for U.S. Senate in Ohio, joined the ‘Stop Critical Race Theory’ Coalition today by formally signing a pledge to combat Critical Race Theory in Ohio, an issue she has been a leader on in her campaign for Senate.

“Critical Race Theory has no place in Ohio schools or across this country. It’s a marxist, divisive, racist ideology that teaches our children to be judged on the color of their skin, not the content of their character,” said Timken. “As Ohio’s next Senator, I will fight for an education agenda that lifts up all children, regardless of race, so that all students can achieve their own American Dream.”

StopCriticalRaceTheory.com is a coalition of 30 Groups in Ohio that have
joined together to combat Critical Race Theory. The pledge includes to:

  • Prohibit the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in Ohio’s schools, universities and governments.
  • Prohibit the teaching of concepts that present any race as inherently deserving of preference.
  • Refocus the primary purpose of education; achieving academic excellence with equal opportunity.
  • Oppose the election of any statewide or local officials, legislators or school board members who support CRT training.

As a leader on this issue, Jane Timken launched a statewide listening tour on education and Critical Race Theory in early May and has talked to parents all across the state about this divisive agenda. You can read about some of the stories and concerns heard at these listening stops here and here

Timken also has a dedicated statewide radio ad targeting Critical Race Theory running in markets across Ohio.

ICYMI: Lima News: Timken: The hypocrisy of the left on election integrity

July 8, 2021

Lima News
By Jane Timken

“In 2016 and beyond, Hillary Clinton said the “election could be stolen from you,” that “we still don’t know what really happened” and that President Trump was an “illegitimate President.”

Democrats repeated the now-debunked Russia-collusion narrative ad nauseam. Even two years after the election, 66% of Democrats believed that “Russia tampered with vote tallies in order to get Donald Trump elected president.”

Despite these repeated claims and untruths about our elections, there were not constant stories from the mainstream media about “the Big Lie,” no public lashings as to how one party is now a “danger” to democracy.

Yet in today’s world, Americans are not able to bring up concerns about the 2020 election or talk about any election integrity measure without being scorned and labeled.

Take last week’s Supreme Court decision on Brnovich v. DNC. The court upheld two common-sense voting laws in Arizona that prohibited the third-party collection of ballots — a practice known as ballot harvesting — and said that ballots must be returned to the correct precinct….

Despite these facts, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said that those rulings caused “one of the darkest days in all of the Supreme Court’s history.”

This hyperbolic language from Democrats is dangerous. Roe v. Wade legalized the killing of unborn babies. Plessy v. Ferguson codified racial segregation. The Dred Scott decision ruled that Black Americans were not citizens. But voting in your correct precinct is now equivalent to “Jim Crow 2.0”?

The faux outrage and knee-jerk reaction of the left to label any election measure as “voter suppression” and “racist” has made it impossible to have an actual dialogue about election integrity.

The Georgia voting bill is the perfect example of this. Despite the misinformation of the left, the bill actually expands the number of early voting days to 17 days — more days than Chuck Schumer’s New York or Joe Biden’s Delaware — and enhances voter ID requirements, a policy which 75% of Americans, including 69% of Black voters and 60% of Democrats, support.

The same holds true here in Ohio. Democrat Senator and former Secretary of State Sherrod Brown has said Ohio Republicans “should be ashamed of themselves” for seeking to codify the amount of drop boxes, increased in Ohio due to the pandemic, that are allowed. Brown could care less that when he was Secretary of State, there were ZERO drop boxes in Ohio. Those facts don’t fit the left’s narrative.

The last-minute election changes implemented across the country due to COVID, a once-in-a-century pandemic, should not be considered a blank check to now tear down all existing election laws.

Election integrity is on the top of mind for millions of Americans across the country. It is absolutely critical that we restore confidence in our elections and ensure the mistakes of 2020 never happen again.

The Republican solution? Emulate states like Georgia and Ohio that are codifying rules so that voting is free, fair and transparent.

The Democrat solution? Push H.R. 1/S. 1, a dangerous bill that federalizes our elections, uses taxpayer dollars to fund political campaigns and eviscerates voter ID requirements.

All voters must have confidence in our elections — that is a central cornerstone of our democracy. That did not happen in 2020, and we must correct it. As the next U.S. Senator from Ohio, I will always fight for free and fair elections. I will always fight to protect your vote.
